Riverside Sweeps in with Latest Trade Services Franchise Strategy
The Riverside Company, a global private investor focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has launched a trade services franchise platform called Threshold Brands, to be initially comprised of five businesses: MaidPro, FlyFoe, Men in Kilts, Pestmaster and USA Insulation, all acquired over the last eight months.
MaidPro is a national provider of residential and light commercial cleaning services through a network of more than 270 franchised locations. MaidPro brings meaningful scale with two additional brands, FlyFoe, a mosquito and tick control franchise, and Men in Kilts, a window cleaning, power washing and gutter cleaning franchise.
Pestmaster provides environmentally conscious pest control services for residential, government and commercial markets with over 35 franchised locations.
USA Insulation, the fifth brand added to Threshold Brands, provides retrofit insulation services for residential and commercial customers across 50 franchised locations.
“We are excited to join these organizations together, building a robust trade services platform that will help more customers across the country,” said Riverside Managing Partner Loren Schlachet. “During our partnership, we will look to bring additional businesses under the Threshold Brands umbrella, assisting with improvements in technology and innovation, growth-driven sales strategies and development opportunities for franchisees.”
Riverside has invested in a cadre of successful franchise companies, growing them through operating expertise and strategic add-ons. The Riverside Franchising Specialization team seeks to source and integrate add-on opportunities, drive growth and capture potential.
“The investments in MaidPro, Pestmaster and USA Insulation mark the first steps in building this new trade services platform, and we’re excited to continue looking for additional partners in other categories as we scale,” said Founder of MaidPro Mark Kushinsky.
“This multi-concept strategy will provide a strong centralized franchisor infrastructure,” said Riverside Partner Brian Sauer. “Franchisees will benefit from shared best practices and opportunities to cross-sell services and open multiple concepts in the same market.”
Working with Schlachet and Sauer on these deals for Riverside were Principal Steve Rice, Associate Caroline Peck, Analyst Sarah Jensen, Operating Partner Ervin Cash and Finance Directors Mark Cohen and Bart Thielen. Founding Partner, Origination, Robert Landis sourced the MaidPro deal for Riverside; Managing Partner, Origination, Jeremy Holland and Vice President, Origination, Stephen O’Hara sourced the Pestmaster deal.
