The Riverside Company Cracks the Case with Latest Investment in Kaseware

The Riverside Company (Riverside), a global private investor focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has invested in Kaseware, a leading provider of investigation management software sold to public safety agencies and corporations.

Founded in 2016, Kaseware offers a leading, cloud-based, all-in-one investigative platform purpose-built to streamline investigators’ workflows, enhance intelligence, reduce time spent on manual tasks, ensure compliant investigations and help solve cases faster. Kaseware’s leadership team comes from decades of law enforcement, federal and corporate security experience, including the co-founders who helped build the FBI’s investigation management solution that is still in use today. They started Kaseware as they saw a need within the public and corporate sectors for a high-quality records and investigative case management software platform.

“Kaseware has built a world-class product, team and customer base that is well positioned for continued expansion,” said Riverside Micro-Cap Fund (RMCF) Managing Partner Loren Schlachet. “We look forward to leveraging Riverside’s deep industry and operational expertise to help Kaseware capture the material growth opportunities ahead.”

This is another example of Riverside’s dedication to its Software and IT Specialization. Riverside has completed more than 260 investments in this focus area and has a team of global experts dedicated to growing these companies.

“The Riverside team and their investment philosophy are a perfect fit as we look to further expand and innovate our product,” said Kaseware Co-Founder & CEO Dorian Deligeorges. “We were pleased to find an investor that shares our vision for driving innovation across the public safety and security industries.”

“We built Kaseware to make the jobs of law enforcement, investigators and security staff easier, while enhancing community safety,” said Kaseware Co-Founder & President Nathan Burrows. “Riverside believes in our mission, and their investment will help us accelerate growth through new product development, enhanced support and geographic expansion.”

"The role of safety personnel and investigators has never been more challenged. There is simply a higher volume of incidents, more complexity in cases due to the volume of data and evidentiary support and not enough people to drive cases to completion,” said RMCF Senior Partner Joe Lee. “Kaseware is innovating the investigation process by combining world class investigative software with intelligence solutions. We’re excited to support this management team as they continue to solve the difficult but critical challenges their customers face.”

Working with Schlachet and Lee on this deal for Riverside were Principal Jake Stoller, Senior Associate Erin Reger, Senior Associate Tom Hillebrecht, Analyst Nikolai Kassogue, Operating Partner Sumit Nijhawan and Finance Director David Mondrus. Origination Partner Grant Marcks and Principal Jake Stoller sourced the deal for Riverside.
